0 Winter 2015
Lots going on musically this winter! On Friday, January 9, BeBimBop performed at Classic Quiche CafĂ© in Teaneck, NJ to a full house. A great way to start the new year! But that’s not all…
Villa Palagonia, my duo with Allison Scola, is currently in the studio recording our debut album. Along with Greg Maker on bass and Dave Mancuso on percussion, we have been working hard to produce a beautiful record with the help of outstanding engineer Don Sterneker of Mix-O-Lydian recording studio and Janie Barnett, who is supporting us with vocal production. The plan is to release it in the spring of 2015. Stay tuned for updates!
Furthermore, Villa Palagonia will be in Chicago at the beginning of Februrary (6 & 7) for a mini-tour, the highlight of which is a live broadcast on WFMT’s Folkstage.
Hosted by Richard Warren, Folkstage is an uninterrupted, one-hour concert broadcast featuring some of the best traditional and singer-songwriter talent in folk music. The live concerts can be are heard Saturdays at 8 PM on WFMT (98.7 FM) or streaming at http://www.wfmt.com, immediately preceding the broadcast of the renowned folk show, The Midnight Special. Stream it live!
BeBimBop continues to grow and evolve, and we’re looking forward to bringing our spicy jazz-pop to Pera Mediterranean in midtown Manhattan at the end of January (Friday, 30 January, to be precise!). Join us for excellent cuisine and an upbeat evening of music!
Looking ahead, there are some plans brewing for a Johnny Rodgers Band tour abroad for the US Department of State in June/July. Can’t say too much now, but we are very excited about the prospect of more cultural diplomacy work in 2015.
